Prof. Mulimba leads orthopedic camp in Busia

Prof. Josephat Mulimba from the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, School of Medicine led an orthopedic camp in Busia County Referral Hospital.

The camp was held in conjunction with Fort Wayne, Indiana, surgical team.

Online postgraduate exams

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery carried out its first online exams for postgraduate students in the wake of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The 13 masters’ students defended their dissertations under the watchful eye of the external examiner, Professor Isaac Kajja who keenly followed the sessions from Makerere University in Kampala Uganda.

THE SICOT ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS TO BE HELD IN MUSCAT OMAN FROM 4-7TH DECEMBER 2019

The 40th SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress in Muscat, Oman, will be held from 4-7 December 2019. SICOT has now evolved into the largest orthopaedic society in the world with thousands of corresponding members from 119 countries speaking over 100 languages. This year the congress will be held in collaboration with the Pan Arab Orthopaedic Association. It will be a wonderful opportunity for young orthopaedic surgeons to take advantage of a wealth of knowledge in the form of workshops, lectures, free paper sessions, symposia and presentations on recent advancements in orthopaedics.

Prof. Jaoko honoured for role in fight against HIV/AIDS

Prof. Walter Jaoko, Director KAVI-Institute of Clinical Research was one of the ten individuals who were honoured at the Ten out of Ten (1O/10) Awards held at the House of Lords in the Palace of Westminster, London on 9th September, 2019.

The Ten out of Ten Awards aims at facilitating an important conversation about the intersection that must converge in order to meet the UN targets of globally ending all new HIV diagnosis by 2030.
